'My Bike' with Chloe McConville

January 20, 2016

For the latest edition of the BikeExchange 'My Bike' series we've taken things up a notch and gone all pro. Chloe McConville from the Orica-AIS team takes us through the team's two road options - the Scott Foil and the Scott Addict.

Chloe consider herself more of a domestique, favoring the cobble classics and harder races, as such she prefers the more forgiving attributes of the Addict. The Addict is also a little lighter than the Foil and is primarily used by the GC riders.

The Foil is stiff, aero and favored by the sprinters on the team. The bike is super fast thanks to the rigid frame, and the aero features cheat the wind and save watts.

The groupset on both bikes is Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 11 speed, complete with SRM power meter. The wheels are also Shimano, either the C35 or C50 depending on rider preference or weather conditions on the day. Pro Bike Gear provide the stem and seat post, and Fizik provide the saddle.

Both bikes are extremely light, Chloe explaining that smaller riders like Amanda Spratt require weight to be added to their bikes in order to make the UCI 4.2 mile limit.

As well as looking the goods, the bikes obviously perform extremely well with Orica-AIS fast becoming one of the strongest teams in the UCI Women's World Tour.
